High School Football Program

Carrusca Football Academy is supported by highly qualified staff and licensed professionals in the field. With this we will guide and develop each participant to reach their full potential. We propose a carefully planned age-appropriate and innovative approach, based on the Football Federation Australia (FFA) National Curriculum. It can be adapted to suit each specific High School Football Program’s needs and develop the skills of athletes either in the field or in the classroom. Our school based Football program is aimed at students aged 13-16 years old with a curriculum that focuses on building the necessary skills needed from the foundation right through to elite game day training. Participants will grow both physically and mentally and aspire to apply their skills during Youth League Competitions.

Our curriculum will be following the FFA recommendations plus our knowledge and experience from Argentina and Spain.

Carrusca Football Academy as a comprehensive Football Academy is focused on providing future generations a platform to develop their sporting skills in a friendly and safe environment.

Our school based football program is an exciting and innovative curriculum component that provides fun, rewarding and developmental upskilling for all participants.

School Based Football Program

Our football program will form part of the school based curriculum that is currently being offered to all students. Our program will comprise of both theory and practical sessions that allow the participants to make real connections with their learning. Topics covered during the theoretical sessions include:

  • Individual and team skill development
  • Nutrition and Health
  • Football conditioning
  • Rules and the importance of them
  • Fair-Play
  • Sportsperson-ship
  • Football techniques
  • History of Football
  • Research project

The Research Project will culminate the learning that participants will gain during the theory and practical sessions. Football Idols will be one of the Topics.


Our school based football program is committed to upskilling all participants with the necessary skills to formulate a school soccer team. The program itself provides participants with the tools to develop individual skills, fitness, team tactics, a growth mindset and an overall enjoyment for football.

Our Football Curriculum distinguishes between 3 training phases. The Methodology is the framework that provides practical guidelines for coaches and players working at all levels from U13 up to U17.

Main Objectives

The Carrusca Football Academy´s main objective is to foster and promote the practice of football and more importantly, to pursue the development of each and every one of the young athletes. Participants will grow both physically and mentally and aspire to apply their skills during Youth League Competitions.

  • One weekly training sessions of 90 minutes and one eventually game during the weekend is a maximum safe workload for U/13’s and U/17’s children
  • Learning to play as a team and developing an understanding of the team tasks
  • Specific tasks for individual team positions
  • Understand the 1-4-3-3 formation
  • Game Training sessions should strive for game realistic scenarios, the practices must include game specific resistances such as opponents

In youth football we will primarily teach young players the proper skills and allow them to play without negative pressure so they can be allowed to express themselves and to learn their mistakes. Winning is not the main objective.

Technical: Dribbling / running with the ball / turning / short and long passing / ball control / receiving / heading / shooting and finishing.
Tactical: Defending / attacking movement / vision / space awareness / when and where to pass.
Nutrition: Healthy food and fluids / rest.
Football Psychology: Be positive / positive self-talk / set goals / always give your best

Sociological: Attitude / behaviour / discipline / communication.

Cycle Planning

This 8 week cycle is based on the assumption that the weekly training sessions are once a week with an eventually game during the weekend.


Playing out from the back – In possession of the ball

Midfield play – In possession of the ball

Attacking – In possession of the ball

Disturbing/pressuring – When the opponent is in possession of the ball

Defending/recapturing – When the opponent is in possession of the ball

Transitioning – Nobody wants to play the ball

Possession – Pass the ball as many times you can

Professional tricks – How to use the body in selected phases of the game
